- ✓ Charge during off-peak hours. Many utilities offer time-of-use rates as low as $0.08-$0.10/kWh overnight. Set your EV or charger to delay charging until midnight — a 75 kWh battery drops from $12 to $6-$7.50 per charge.
- ✓ Charge at home whenever possible. Public DC fast charging costs 2-4x more than home charging ($0.40-$0.60/kWh vs $0.16/kWh). Reserve public charging for road trips and emergencies only.
